So we just learned a Malay song from the internet and decided to share it with you. The song is by a band that is similar in sound to Dave Matthews, actually. We really like the sound… too bad it's from the 90’s, so no one here has heard of it. We tried to figure out the lyrics (none online) for about 2 hours. After we had had enough, we went to our neighbor and she helped us with the rest. She thought our version was REALLY funny… as we wrote a line that should say “I’m going to get rid of everything that’s no worth saying” as “I’m going to burn my pants”. Not quite. Anyway, it was worth a few laughs.
After practicing a bit, Angela and I had our red carpet performance for you. Sorry, don’t expect Frank Sinatra here… You will enjoy our facial expressions though. Perhaps when we actually learn the words we will repost another rendition of the song. We learned it for our language teacher as he is really into music and arts.
