Yesterday we had a day off work, which was a great thing to find out (we didn’t know about it until Monday). We decided to spend the time seeing some friends. We met a couple for lunch, and then for dinner we drove back to out old stomping ground and say a couple who helped up get settled in a few years back. After stopping there for about 30 minutes, we met some friends from our old apartment for dinner. Their kids are growing up, so it was great to see how they are really getting bigger and really warming up to us (well, the older one is, that is). We had a great time with them. We tentatively planning to let them help us with our business ideas – their (soon to be) 5 yr old has a birthday in November, so we’re going to organize a kids party for them. It will look similar to what I’ve done in America, but I have to learn all the Malay phrases to say so that all the children understand me. I’m sure it will be rough, but you have to start somewhere. We’re excited about it. The dad is keen on helping with business ideas, so it will be a good chance to show what we can offer and then perhaps go from there!
Other than that, it was a good time hanging out with them and spending time with them. The conversation came more easily. We finally got home at about 11:30… Ahh…
The bubble gun we bought for the 4 year old – she kept calling it a balloon gun… I guess that’s close enough.
