Moving!

So it's official... We're moving. We lined up a place to look at on Sunday afternoon, and were thinking it would be a good fit. We met with some friends in the morning and before we left, a lady mentioned that she had a place for rent, so we went there and looked at her place. It was ok - about as basic as they come, but the location was a bit isolated. The price was 350 per month, which would be tough to beat, but we weren't sure about the location (it was further from work, on the other side of a toll, and around nothing).

We went to the place we had set up a meeting to look at and liked it. It was a bit more expensive per month (650) but it has two A/C units, a few wardrobes, a bed we can use for the spare bedroom, some really ugly couches, and a cupboard in the kitchen. We talked about which was better and decided that even though it was more per month, it would be better to live in the latter, as it is in a really nice neighborhood. Within walking distance are 5+ restaurants, a night market every Sunday night, convenience stores, and get this, a paintball arena! I've never seen one of those here, so it might be a good opportunity to invite friends over to go play!

The area really feels like a nice community pocket - probably 1000-2000 people. The area consists of a basic apartment block with 4 ~10 story buildings, a neighborhood with about 100 terrace houses (like a row house), and our condo (which is a step up from the normal apartment as it has an elevator). We really liked the feel of the area, and see it as a great opportunity to learn language. We plan to clean and prepare the place this week.

We will be sure to post more pictures later on, because we plan to paint the place, but here it is as of now. The walls are a light yellow... I think the plan is to paint the trim in the main room black and get black couches and curtains. Not sure yet what will happen in the bedroom yet - something for sure so we don't overload from too much yellow!
