We're turning our bedroom porch (which we've never used, in fact the door has been sealed up for about 2 years) into a closet. I thought about using bricks, but bricks would be a permanent structure and would mean carrying a thousand bricks up by hand, literally. I chose to use wood and plywood and cement board. The cement board repels water, and I will put a cement skim coat over it when it's finished. This part of the side of the house doesn't get much water anyway.
I did well, being safe, but on the last piece of board, well, I fell off the ladder (not off the roof, just onto the roof), twice.
