Playing the Wii

With the end of school, I decided to do what I've been wanting to do for a long time - set up the Wii and projector outside and play with the neighborhood kids. I jerry-rigged up everything, including my "screen". I wanted to use an old white sheet, but that was left outside and was dirty, so I used my tarp. This worked, but was hard to see clearly, so I unfolded the sheet. Dirt and all, it worked better...

About 30 kids came, and all were happy. We even got a text message afterwards from a parent thanking us for doing it - that is not common practice here...

Angela took care of making the "food", which consisted of hot dog pieces and popcorn - healthy favorites. It was a success, and perhaps I'll do it again. It's a great way to give something back to the community.

So, what I thought would be a quiet last day of work turned out to be a full day - Morning I played soccer in a Year 6 vs. Teachers game (teachers won 5-3), then went to a going away party at another school, and then getting ready for the Wii party. Ahh...
