Day 3 - "Comfort Food"

So yesterday, one of my nurses (from the Endoscopy department) came by to see the baby. She chatted, asked about food, traditions, etc. Malaysia has a confinement period where the mom must eat certain foods and avoid others. Well, we don't have such a thing, but people only know that, so we have decided to call it "Comfort Food". After pregnancy, she can only have comfort food. So as the nurse asked us, we told her this and explained what were comfort foods - chicken soup, applesauce, mashed potatoes... she was curious about apple sauce, so we explained how to make it (boil apples, mash them, add Cinnamon and sugar). This morning the same lady came in with 4 bags of stuff! She had toys for the baby, balloon animals she made, a cute outfit, fresh fruit, crackers, a chicken broth that is very popular here, and HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE! I'm sure this was her first experience making it, and it was yummy! It touched out hearts that she was interested in making what WE wanted (we sure didn't ask her...). Some people really have huge hearts... and to spend so much time and money on someone is amazing to us. All because I go to their office every 2 months and get stuck with a needle... Reminds you that the way to present yourself every minute of the day is important - and people see your characted in even the simplest interactions.
