The never ending pile of work – the house

Right now, our house is a complete mess. There are boxes all over every room, both stuff we packed and things we have bought but haven’t set up. Thankfully we were able to get the AC installed two days ago, and the hot water heater last night. There is still a lot to do, but a lot of things must be done in a certain order (as to not get ahead of ourselves). Out next (and last) major project is the addition off the back of the house. We’ll be adding on a shower room and a laundry room off the back of the house hopefully next week. It will be a simple addition, but important. Once we do that, we can get the washing machine and dryer out of the kitchen and then start setting up our kitchen. Once we set up the kitchen, the boxes from the kitchen will be out of the bedroom. Once the cabinets are set up, we can move the countertops which are in the living room into the kitchen. Once those are moved, we can move the couches and chairs which are in the bedroom also… Then we can actually relax and watch TV properly (currently, the TV is mounted by the ceiling, and the couch is about 6 feet away, so it’s like we’re looking straight up). Get the idea?

This weekend we’ll be heading back to the city to see friends and pick up some final things like curtains, legs for the cabinets, and other various things. Moving is a lot of work, but we really hope that after a month or two most of the things will be settled and we can relax a bit more.
