Here in Malaysia, a popular fruit is called rambutan. Rambut means "hair" and buahan means "fruit", so really, I guess it's hair fruit. You can see in the pictures below why it's called hair fruit.
It is really good. It has a soft, hair like branches growing out of it. Then you have a orange like peel/shell, then you have the white fruit, which is similar in texture to a grape, and then a seed inside. It is really good - definately one of our favorites. During season, you can get it really cheap. We enjoyed it... and not just eating it, but doing what our parents tell us not do to - play with your food... but it's so fun!
