I had to repair our sliding gate motor unexpectedly today. It's 10 months old and after troubleshooting it, I found this wire which ran from the control board to the motor sensor. Somehow it was still functioning.
I replaced this wire and another one that was even worse with thicker wires. I'm not sure the cause, though... It could be the heat, too small of wires, or the constricted hose it runs through. Sadly the flexible hose it runs through is buried under tile and cement. I'd rather not have to rip it up again...
