Big Girl Voice

The day after we returned from Thailand Addison came home from school and reported how her day at school was.

Addison: "My teacher said, 'Where is my present?''

Angela: (Inwardly laughing knowing that the teacher was probably half-serious.) "Oh really? She was probably just joking."

Addison: (wide eyed serious face) "NOooooo. She w-a-s-n-t...."

Angela: (Trying to not make her feel bad) "Don't worry. She's probably joking. It's okay."

Addison: "No, she was serious."

Angela: "How do you know she was serious?"

Addison: (convincingly) "Because she used her B-I-G G-I-R-L voice."

I just laughed enjoying her logic and getting to see into her head. We've been working on her using her words instead of whining. We probably did break that cultural norm here, but I really detest trinkets.
