And... Another School's Raya Party

Matt posted another raya party a few posts ago. I'd like to add a funny story missing from that one.

Matt likes to take Addison to these parties for multiple reasons. Probably the key reason being his excuse to come late and leave early, if needed. The second reason would be because if he brings a cute kid dressed up in their traditional clothes, he can get out of wearing their pyjamas (wait, I mean traditional clothes) to the party. Addison is getting older, cleverer, and more opinionated. That equals:

-Girl doesn't like to wear traditional baju.

-Mom says, "You have to wear it."

-Groaning and mumbling.

-Man gets out of shower and needs clothes.

-Girl calls out with authority, "Dad! Go put on your BAJU!!"

-Oh man! He's caught! Traditional clothes it is!

-Mom laughs so hard knowing man's clever plan has been found out.

So that's that story.

Here's pics from today's party.

Kids at assembly.

Just behind them is the cookie table and a meal. All traditional sweet and savory treats.

And a little play time after feasting.

And then classes presenting dances and a little kaoroke, of course. This particular dance below had costumes made out of banana leaves. I'm so intrigued how to make them. They are very cool!
