We have literally had the same house decorations for 5 years, and the same furniture for 3 years prior. We've moved things around, but the main art and furniture has been the same.
We bought two couches 8 years ago for probably us$150, and while one is still ok and has been put in Addison's room, the other has major 'holed' in it and u get as much cushion as wood beams to enjoy.
We finally decided on a new couch from ikea. It has removable cushions (a must with kids) and a lounge section (my dream for 10 years). It took two trips to ikea since they didn't have it all in stock, but it's ours to enjoy now. We'll need a new rug. Our white (now brown spotted) run has met it's end too.
