8 trays of lasagne
40 burgers (and enough meat for 60 more)
~5 gallons of chicken noodle soup
~3 gallons of potato salad
4 large plates of 7 layer dip
Beans and rice
And other smaller sides. The evening went well, and our hours was full for 3 hours. We set up tables outside, but most people seemed to prefer to find a seat on the floor in the house. We finally went to sleep at 1AM last night, but this was probably the most successful dinner we've had. The soup and lasagne seemed to be the hits.
Food Preparation:
The night's theme was food from America. We chose places that were meaningful to us (hometowns and university towns) and then Pennsylvania, which is where banana splits supposedly started. Here is the menu we gave everyone (the recipes were included inside):
We decorated each table with a large state cut-out for each. They turned out nice:
Eating and getting food:
Addison did well before and during the party. We were busy preparing all day, so after her nap, we set up the iPad and she watched movies in her bed for a few hours, happily. During the party once she realized people were going outside, she wanted to go outside, but other than that, she did ok. She was the star:
Some group pictures:
We have a lot of extra food - a lot is frozen for a later date, but because of our diet restrictions, we can't eat some of it. We have decided in the future only to cook food that we like and can eat, so if we have leftovers, we can eat it...
