Well, we have arrived. Our trip was long (40 hours) and very stressful (both of us were getting over the flu, but didn't want to be quarantined in some crazy clinic in the back of an airport and then miss our flights). We felt pretty good getting on the Taipei to KL flight, so when we arrived in Malaysia we were ready to clean our house and unpack.
The other thing that was stressful was our carry on bags. You're only supposed to have 16 pounds for carry-ons for international flights. We had two that were 40 lbs. One was filled with electronics and the other medicine, things that we couldn't check. At the airport in LA, the check in lady told me they were too heavy and I'd have to take stuff out, and I told her I couldn't. She was in a rotten mood, but that really stressed us out. What could we do if they didn't let us take the stuff on the plane? Thankfully at the gate they don't weigh your bag, and we walked right on without a problem.
They only lost one bag, but it was really easy. As soon as we got to the baggage claim area, we heard our name on the announcements. Angela checked and they told her one bag was still in LA and to go to the ticket office to leave our address. We didn't have to wait at the carousal, hoping the bag would come out. The bag was delivered the next day to our house, no problems.
Our house was really dusty when we returned, so we spent the weekend cleaning it. We have reorganized some part of it too so that it's more livable. Today we might get a curtain to section off our laundry area.
The weather isn't hot anymore - it's relaxing. Even getting off the plane was wonderful. Before the heat has hit us, and we instantly start to sweat, but this time it was like laying in your favourite couch... It's good to be back!
